Profile of diabetic eye screening

Essex was formed from the East Anglia DESP, South East Essex DESP and South West & West Essex DESP in April 2016.

For patients referred to the programme by their General Practice, we are responsible for inviting, screening, grading & referring to the Hospital Eye Services as required.

The Programme engages a team of qualified Retinal Screeners to support the service.
